Admit Card: What Has Changed in NEET Re-Exam?

The new NEET re-exam admit card 2026 which NTA issued on 14-16 June 2026 was completely different from the one used in the May exam. In fact, officials did not accept the old admit card under any circumstances in the 21 June re-exam.

Changes in New Admit Card That NTA Implemented

  • New Roll Number: NTA gave every candidate a fresh roll number for the re-exam and therefore students used the same for result
  • QR Authentication: NTA implemented advanced security feature for verification at all centres
  • Digital Signature: In addition, NTA added anti-forgery watermark to prevent duplication
  • Exam Centre Change: NTA reshuffled 30% centres due to security reasons and therefore many students got new centres
  • Updated Reporting Time: Moreover, NTA implemented earlier reporting due to enhanced verification process including biometric and facial recognition

Important Note: NTA released the fresh admit card on 14-16 June 2026 on neet.nta.nic.in and therefore it remained valid only for 21 June re-exam. As a result, NTA declared the old admit card completely invalid.

Exam Mode: Offline Only – No CBT for NEET 2026

Question: Is NEET UG 2026 becoming CBT?
Answer: No. The NEET UG re-exam notice clearly stated that NTA will keep the examination fully offline (OMR-based pen and paper mode). Furthermore, NTA officially confirmed: “The examination will be conducted in pen and paper mode across India and abroad.” However, NTA is only considering CBT for future NEET cycles (post-2027 discussions), not for this examination which officials have already completed. Therefore, you can check NEET CBT 2027 Plan under Pralhad Joshi for future updates.

Security Measures After Paper Leak – Which NTA Implemented on 21 June

NTA introduced stricter security protocols for the NEET 2026 re-examination and consequently implemented them successfully on 21 June 2026:

  • Biometric Verification: NTA made fingerprint and facial recognition mandatory at entry and therefore verified every student
  • 360-Degree CCTV Monitoring: NTA did live surveillance in every examination hall from its control room
  • Double Security Frisking: Officials conducted double frisking at gate and exam hall entry points
  • Controlled Question Paper Distribution: Officials distributed papers just minutes before exam start to avoid leak
  • Random Seat Allocation: In addition, NTA allocated seats randomly inside the hall to prevent cheating

NTA took these measures after the Telegram ban NEET leak case action earlier this year.

NTA had opened a correction window for exam city preference for the NEET UG 2026 re-exam. However, this window is now closed because the exam is over.

ParticularsDetails

Fee Refund Update for NEET UG 2026 – NTA Processed It

NTA has already initiated the original exam fee refund process for all candidates. Moreover, NTA did not charge any fresh fee for the NEET re-exam 2026. Big Update: New Education Minister Takes Charge After Result
