📖 CTET 2026 Paper 1 Syllabus (Classes 1 to 5)
This syllabus is for aspiring primary level teachers. The paper has 5 sections. It totals 150 marks. The duration is 2.5 hours.
1. Child Development & Pedagogy (30 marks) – Most Important
You need to focus on child development theories. These include Piaget, Kohlberg, Vygotsky, and Erikson. Also study learning theories like Behaviorism and Constructivism. Other topics include inclusive education, assessment methods, and classroom management. This section is a must to clear the exam.

This syllabus is for aspiring upper primary level teachers. The paper totals 150 marks. The duration is 2.5 hours.
1. Child Development & Pedagogy (30 marks)
Key topics include adolescent development and learning disabilities. You will also study special needs, constructivism, and progressive education. Other topics are guidance, counselling, and assessment for learning.
2. Language I + Language II (60 marks total)
Focus on prose and poetry comprehension. Also study grammar, vocabulary, and writing skills. Writing skills include essays, letters, and reports. Other topics are language teaching approaches and teaching materials.
